Our core operations team has close to 10 years’ experience working together with a ‘Mission First’ focus. From 2002 to 2010, this team grew a previous firm from operating one aircraft supported by six employees to a fleet of 85 aircraft and more than 750 staff supporting worldwide operations in austere environments.

Previously, NorthStar personnel have been leaders and managers in numerous modification and fleet management programs worldwide. Each of our core leadership team members has between 20 and 30 years’ experience in commercial and military aviation.

Reno Alberto is a board member and the Chief Executive Officer of NorthStar Aviation. He has substantial leadership and management experience in multi-stakeholder, international environments. Before moving to work in the U.A.E., Reno was the Program Manager for the Anti-terrorism Assistance (ATA) program (Department of State) in Afghanistan. Key responsibilities included leading the design and the implementation of a comprehensive training program developed to strengthen the partner nation’s anti-terrorism capabilities and infrastructure. Reno also has nine years of military experience with the U.S. Navy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Terry Key

Terry Key is Vice President at NorthStar Aviation. A retired U.S. Army Master Aviator, he has had a 30-year career in the aviation industry. While in the military, Terry was an Enlisted UH-60 Mechanic, a Warrant Officer Pilot and a Commissioned Officer. He served in leadership positions from platoon to brigade level. He holds an FAA ATP Rating and is qualified to fly a number of military and civilian helicopters. Since retiring from the military 11 years ago, Terry has held the positions of Pilot, Program Manager, Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, Senior Director of Operations and Vice President of Operations in the civil aviation sector. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Aviation Operations Management from Troy State University-Dothan, Alabama.

Hani Farag is the Vice President, Corporate.

A seasoned executive with over 38 years of Management experience and proven expertise in change management, acquisitions, integration and business development.

Following a 12 year career with a major Canadian Bank, Hani spent the last 26 years with Global Aviation players Bombardier Aerospace in Canada and Jet Aviation, a subsidiary of General Dynamics in Switzerland. Hani’s Aviation industry experience includes numerous Vice President level positions with responsibility for North American as well as International business units.

As a member of many Senior Executive teams, Hani provided advice on business and people related matters globally, lead various business development initiatives as well as major projects in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Hani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Concordia University, A Graduate Diploma in Management from McGill university and a Fellowship of the institute of Canadian Bankers. Hani is also the previous Chairman & Board member of various not for profit organizations.

Lyle Becka

Deputy Vice President

Lyle Becka is Deputy Vice President at NorthStar Aviation responsible for the overall scope of the technical operations. He has been part of the NorthStar team since its inception.

Prior to joining NorthStar, he held multiple management positions with a US airline operating both fixed and rotary wing fleets as Director of Maintenance, Senior Director of Technical Services and Vice President.

Lyle has extensive experience in both the civil and government sectors as well as specialized programs. He served as a Helicopter Crew Chief in the U.S. Air Force and continued his career in civil aviation, holding positions of increasing responsibility with regional airlines and MRO centers.

Adam Gunn

Adam has over 26 years of aviation technical experience combining aviation management expertise together with hands on experience including over 10 years of experience living and working in the Middle East.

As NorthStar Aviation’s Technical Director, Adam has direct oversight of the development of the technical organization (production, quality, engineering, technical services and logistics) and maintenance and modification programs.

Adam comes to NorthStar Aviation from the civil aviation sector. As Director of Maintenance with his previous employer he was a key team member involved in the acquisition, modification, deployment, maintenance, technical and logistical support for over 70 aircraft and 300 plus technical and support personnel deployed worldwide and in austere and hostile environments.

Previous positions held include; Aviation Consultant, Director of Maintenance , Quality Assurance Manager, Chief Inspector, Shops Foreman , Quality Control Inspector and FAA Certificated Airframe and Powerplant Technician.
